Stage of Implementation
These instructions are for merchants that have completed app installation and have added the selling plan and purchase option to their theme, and are ready to test the shopper experience.
How to confirm your added purchase option in working within a Shopper’s Journey
Step 1- In your Shopify Admin Console, navigate to Products and find a product you added the selling plan to. Scroll down on the product settings/details page until you see Search engine listing and open that URL in a separate tab. This will allow you to preview what that product page will look like with the newly added purchase option.
Step 2- Add the item using the Try Before You Buy purchase option, and verify the shopper experience correlates with the expected behavior below.
If all has gone well during the previous steps the following behaviors should be observed in the following stages of a Shoppers journey when using TryNow on your website.
Product Page
- The product page should have either a radio button purchase option block that includes a “Try Before You Buy for X days” option, or a separate Try Before You Buy button.
Cart
- In the cart, you should see a “Try Before You Buy” label next to the product, denoting the TBYB selling plan.
- The cart subtotal should reflect the sum of all items in the cart, irrespective of the selling plan.
- If the TBYB selling plan is not present, it is possible that you are using a separate Shopify app that affects purchase options and that is not compatible with our app. Please reach out to us at Merchant-support@trynow.io.
Checkout
- In the checkout flow, items added using the selling plan will again be denoted as such, with the label “Try Before You Buy for X days.”
- The “full price” under the TBYB label should reflect the list price (any discounts inclusive) as it’s intended to reflect what the shopper will pay for that item should they keep it after their trial.
- The “Total due today” should reflect the sum of items and their due today values, so for those items that have the TBYB selling plan they will be $0.
- The “Total Due on X Date” is the price of all TBYB selling plan items plus any other known charges (eg. shipping).
Post-Checkout
- Shoppers will receive an email confirmation from TryNow acknowledging their trial order.
- Shoppers will continue to receive email notifications at key milestones during their trial period:
- At the time of order placement
- When the order is shipped
- When the trial begins
- When the trial is almost over
- When the trial is complete
- Examples of the above milestone Emails can be seen below in order from left to right:
- Shoppers will continue to receive email notifications at key milestones during their trial period:
Once a TryNow order is placed, it will show up in your Shopify Admin > Orders page as “authorized.” This means that the shopper's card was authorized for the amount of the TBYB items they ordered.
You can also see your TBYB orders in your Merchant Portal, under the “Orders” tab.
Now that you have completed testing the TBYB experience, you can become a pro at managing your TryNow Orders.
