Stage of Implementation
These instructions are for merchants that have already downloaded the app, set up their Merchant Portal account, added the selling plan to their products and are ready to add the purchase option to their product pages.
Something to consider before executing this step
If you wish to add the Try Before You Buy experience to your live theme, we strongly recommend making a copy of your live theme to complete these next steps in and test within.
To do this, open the three-dot menu next to the theme you wish to make a copy of, and click “Duplicate.” A new theme copy will then be added to your library that you can work in.
Steps for adding the purchase Option Block to your product pages
Step 1 - On your Shopify admin console, navigate to Sales Channels > Themes. On the theme you wish to show the TryNow purchase option, select Customize. From the dropdown menu at the top of the screen, search for a product you previously added the TryNow selling plan to.
Step 2 - Hover over the product page where you’d like to insert the purchase option, and select Add block.
Step 3 - If you would like to add the purchase option as a radio button, select the Purchase Options app. If you would like to add a separate Try Before You Buy button, select the TryNow Button app.
Step 4 - You should now see the purchase option either displayed as a radio button or as a separate “Try Before You Buy” button on any product page that is using that page template and has the purchase option added. If you use custom product pages for certain products, you will need to add the purchase option onto those pages as well. You can always move the purchase option location on the page by clicking and dragging it directly or by clicking and dragging the component in the page layout on the left-hand side.
The theme you customized now contains the Try Before You Buy purchase option. To ensure the TBYB block stays present on your site, we recommend making a copy of this theme to work in if you plan on making any changes to your site down the road. To do this, follow the same steps as mentioned here.
Now that you have completed these steps you can confirm your work throughout this process has been completely successful by Testing your Newly Added Purchase Option in the Shopper’s Journey.
